BlackRock May File XRP ETF Soon, Shocking Twist in Crypto ETF Race

BlackRock May File XRP ETF Soon, Shocking Twist in Crypto ETF Race

BlackRock is reportedly preparing for a surprising entry into the XRP ETF market. This move would mark a significant shift from its previous focus on Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Nate Geraci, a respected ETF analyst, recently pointed out that XRP and Solana ETFs could be approved alongside other altcoin filings. His comments have intensified discussions across the financial and crypto communities.

Several asset managers are already competing in the XRP ETF race. These include Bitwise, 21Shares, Canary Capital, and Franklin Templeton, all seeking approval to list XRP-related products.

If BlackRock proceeds with an XRP ETF, it could create a sharp shift in the regulatory landscape. Its involvement would speed up SEC decisions and reshape the market’s direction.

Smaller firms are voicing concerns about unequal treatment during the SEC’s approval process. VanEck recently submitted a letter accusing the agency of favoring dominant players like BlackRock and Fidelity.

Through that letter, VanEck and others hoped the SEC would decide to use a “first-to-file” system again. The view is that it would grant new companies a chance to grow without being overshadowed by the big ones.

While BlackRock and Fidelity have yet to file for XRP or Solana ETFs, many expect them to act soon. The arrival of this legislation could have a major impact on the manner and schedule of the coming approvals.

At the same time, experts believe XRP will receive approval soon. According to Bloomberg, this may happen by late 2025, although July remains a slim possibility.

Polymarket bettors are also confident that an XRP ETF will eventually receive the green light. This optimism is attracting more attention and pressure on decision-makers.

Many in the investment world are speaking strongly about BlackRock’s possible decision to offer an XRP ETF. As people speculate, large changes in the crypto ETF sector are more likely, and everyone has to be ready for them.
