Xsolla was established in 2015, and since then, it has grown into one of the biggest video gaming brands in the world. Its operation extends to over 200 countries in 20+ languages and supports 130 currencies.
The company specializes in creating tools and services, particularly for video gaming. Its suite of products caters to game developers and publishers.
Xsolla embraces crypto payments
Xsolla and BitPay first partnered in 2014 with the aim of streamlining in-game transactions. The early collaboration between these two firms paved the way for Bitcoin as an in-game payment option, consequently attracting attention in the gaming community.
In addition, Xsolla has also partnered with other crypto firms like crypto.com to integrate easy crypto payment solutions for its users. In September 2023, BitPay and Xsolla integrated PayPal USD (PYUSD) as a payment option for its merchants and users.
Also, in August 2022, Xsolla partnered with Coinchange Financial – an automated crypto management platform alongside TradeZing to create an NFT payment solution.
BitPay lists XRP
Recall that in August 2023, BitPay announced the global support of XRP, stating that its users can now buy, sell, swap, and spend XRP on its platform. Per the announcement, merchants can now accept XRP payments from over 100 wallets.
The development came following Ripple’s legal win in the case against the Securities and Exchange Commission which provided regulatory clarity for XRP. The strategic move has helped to increase BitPay’s cryptocurrency offerings to 18 including top cryptos like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Polygon, Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, and others.
