- RLUSD minting surge pushes stablecoin toward top market rankings.
- Ripple’s RLUSD integrates with major financial systems for institutional growth.
- XRP Ledger’s design enhances RLUSD’s scalability and real-time settlement.
In a notable move for Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin, 10 million tokens were recently minted on the Ethereum blockchain. This has helped propel its market capitalization beyond the $600 million mark, generating increased interest in its future growth.
This surge in market cap comes despite the lack of major marketing campaigns or celebrity endorsements. The growth has been a quiet, strategic rollout, positioning RLUSD as a key player in the digital currency space.

RLUSD’s Silent Integration into Institutional Infrastructure
The rise of RLUSD isn’t accidental, as according to Pumpius (@Pumpius), the stablecoin was deliberately launched without public advertising and aimed instead for institutional integration.
RLUSD is already integrated into key financial infrastructure, including Bank of America’s backend infrastructure and BNY Mellon’s custodial infrastructure. It is also active in fintech payment systems, including OpenPayd and River.
RLUSD is constructed on the XRP Ledger (XRPL), unlike other stablecoins on Ethereum or Solana. This decision demonstrates two features of Ripple, including scalability, compliance, and real-time cross-border settlement.
Why the XRP Ledger Matters for RLUSD’s Future
Due to its design, the XRP Ledger enables cheap transactions with near-instant finality. All these aspects predetermine RLUSD as a logical candidate to facilitate high-volume institutional activity.
Ripple’s decision to rely on XRPL places RLUSD as a stablecoin meant to be taken seriously in terms of financial adaptation. This is not retail adoption but a saleable solution to large-scale payment systems.
RLUSD’s Position in the Stablecoin Market
RLUSD’s $600 million market cap is a clear indicator of its growing acceptance. Although it is still not as large as the biggest stablecoins, it has a reasonable basis to grow since it has been strategically integrated into most of the major financial systems.
Since Ripple constantly adjusts RLUSD to institutional requirements, the stablecoin’s market standing may gain momentum. Its low-key launch and emphasis on adherence indicate that RLUSD might become a sleeper in the stablecoin hierarchy and ascend steadily.
