BitMEX Teases Major Ripple Move Ahead of CME XRP Futures Launch This Week

BitMEX has caught the attention of the XRP community with a cryptic social media post hinting at a major Ripple-related update. The exchange claimed the announcement would create “a ripple effect,” sparking speculation just days before the CME Group launches its regulated XRP futures.

The message, shared on BitMEX’s official account, directly tagged Ripple, intensifying interest. Since CME started dealing with ETH’s futures on May 19, many think BitMEX may be taking steps to catch the influx of investors in this market.

In February 2020, BitMEX started offering an XRPUSD perpetual swap due to its essential role in cryptocurrency derivatives. In May 2022, the organization introduced a spot trading platform to broaden its network. According to the tease, Citi could be further involved with Ripple or related XRP products.

Some observers believe the announcement could involve Ripple USD, the stablecoin introduced by Ripple in late 2024. It is already available for trading on several platforms and might soon be available on BitMEX. BitMEX has not yet revealed any details about the product or partnership.

Ripple’s Stablecoin and Legal Pressures Shape Market Expectations

Despite the rising anticipation, XRP’s price has remained relatively unchanged. Over the last week, it recorded only a 0.3 percent gain. Many investors, still holding onto the momentum from XRP’s rally in late 2024, have expressed disappointment over its current stagnation.

Uncertainty has increased because Ripple faced a setback in its legal fight with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The move by the court to reject the joint motion results in a hazy outlook for when a final decision can be made. Ripple’s legal situation remains unclear, according to John Deaton, who calls the judgment a “curveball.”

While a few XRP enthusiasts see BitMEX’s plan as a reason to get back into the market, others are still uncertain. The effects of previous changes in the exchange market on XRP have been restricted.

Everyone is watching BitMEX and waiting to see what its Ripple tease involves. The news and CME’s upcoming future launch could result in more attention being given to XRP.
