- FBI links “The Com” to international cybercrime, targeting major systems.
- Legal actions underway as X combats global hacker syndicates.
X, the popular social media platform formerly known as Twitter, has revealed the discovery of a widespread bribery network tied to crypto scams. According to a post by X, this network involved users paying middlemen to bribe employees to reinstate their suspended accounts. These measures form a bigger operation of several social media networks, such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Minecraft, and Roblox. Also, supposedly, the suspected criminals are affiliated with influential global criminal groups, such as the famous one, the Com.
X emphasized that prosecution is already in the pipeline against the people who are involved, and law enforcement is cooperating. The site has underscored its commitment to ensuring that its users are kept in a safe place, implying that fighting against illicit practices is one of its priorities. Although attempts are being made to eradicate scams, crypto-related frauds are still thriving and touch both individuals and organizations.

Link to International Cybercrime Syndicates Exposed
The FBI has previously warned about “The Com,” a global hacking group known for a range of criminal activities. Many members of this network are minors, but their operations are far from juvenile. The group has been engaged in high-profile targets and scams in different industries. Recently, the U.S. Department of Justice released federal indictments against a British teenager who was associated with The Com. The teenager is charged with committing more than 120 cyberattacks, such as attacks on corporate systems and extortion of the U.S. government. The hacker is also linked to Scattered Spider, which is affiliated with The Com.
This disclosure by X throws some light on the increased difficulty of fighting complex, worldwide cybercrime cartels that utilise social media companies to execute fraud and unlawful actions. The platform’s action reflects an ongoing effort to strengthen security measures and support authorities in tackling the widespread issue of crypto fraud.
