What to know:
- Charles Hoskinson praises Monero privacy upgrade after years of intense development.
- Monero launches FCMP++ stressnet, introducing stronger blockchain-wide transaction privacy protections
- Cardano and Monero achieve major technical milestones during critical development week
Privacy coin Monero gained unexpected support this week after Charles Hoskinson openly praised its latest network development. The reaction followed Monero’s launch of the FCMP++ beta stressnet, a major privacy-focused upgrade that developers have spent years building and testing.
According to information surrounding the release, the second public stressnet for FCMP++ and CARROT went live on May 6 at block 2,997,100. The update introduced a new testing phase for technology designed to strengthen transaction privacy across the Monero blockchain.
Hoskinson described the launch as a “massive deal” for Monero. Additionally, he praised the project’s developers for remaining committed to long-term infrastructure work despite increasing scrutiny surrounding privacy cryptocurrencies. His comments quickly circulated across crypto communities because Cardano and Monero rarely overlap in public discussions.
The FCMP++ upgrade changes how Monero verifies transaction ownership. Instead of proving ownership within a small group of outputs, the system references the entire blockchain history. Consequently, privacy protections could become significantly stronger for network users.
Developers explained that FCMP++ replaces traditional ring signatures with full-chain membership proofs. Therefore, ownership verification could expand from 16 outputs to more than 150 million outputs across the blockchain.

Cardano and Monero Reach Major Technical Milestones Simultaneously
Monero’s stressnet launch arrived during an important period for the Cardano ecosystem as well. Meanwhile, Cardano developers continued preparing the van Rossem hard fork for deployment across the network.
Recent updates revealed that the hard fork governance action reached the Preview testnet stage earlier this week. Additionally, developers released Cardano Node 11.0.1 Pre-Release together with DB Sync 13.7.0.5 support updates.
The infrastructure update supports Protocol Version 11 and prepares the network for the upcoming intra-era hard fork transition. Consequently, both Monero and Cardano entered critical development phases almost simultaneously.
Monero developers also continued testing CARROT alongside FCMP++. The upgrade focuses on improving privacy, security, and address usability while remaining compatible with existing addresses. Furthermore, developers confirmed that both FCMP++ and CARROT remained under development for more than two years before entering this stressnet stage.
Hoskinson’s reaction added unusual cross-community recognition to Monero’s latest technical milestone. At the same time, the simultaneous progress across both blockchain networks highlighted continued focus on infrastructure development despite uncertain market conditions.
