- David Schwartz changes avatar, reviving legendary Fuzzybear XRP community theories again.
- Fuzzybear wallet history and XRP folklore return into community conversations worldwide.
- Schwartz rejects extreme XRP narratives despite fueling meme culture speculation online.
Former Ripple CTO David Schwartz changed his X profile picture to a “Fuzzybear” image, bringing back one of the XRP community’s oldest conspiracy theories. Longtime XRP holders immediately connected the image to the mysterious “bearableguy123” figure and years of speculation surrounding XRP predictions.
The “Fuzzybear” name carries historical significance within XRP circles because a wallet using that name first appeared during OpenCoin’s early network period in 2013. Later, the wallet became widely known after placing a decentralized exchange order offering 1 XRP for 1 BTC. Consequently, many XRP supporters began associating the account with hidden messages and XRP folklore.
Several XRP community members also revisited old rumors claiming Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse could somehow be linked to the anonymous “bearableguy123” identity. Although no evidence supports those claims, Schwartz’s profile update pushed the theories back into public attention. The profile picture change attracted additional interest because Schwartz recently interacted with a meme coin project carrying the same “Fuzzybear” branding.

XRP Holders Revisit Old Community Theories
Many XRP holders interpreted the avatar update as a reference to the network’s early internet culture. Meanwhile, others viewed the move as online humor from Schwartz, who has remained active within XRPL NFT communities and meme-related discussions for years.
The situation also stood out because Schwartz recently criticized several exaggerated XRP narratives circulating online. He publicly rejected claims suggesting XRP would secretly become a global reserve currency supported by governments. Additionally, he dismissed extreme XRP price projections, including predictions placing the asset at $10,000.
Besides that, Schwartz previously criticized speculative meme coin investing across the cryptocurrency sector. He described many meme coin activities as distasteful and stated that he did not want to promote financial speculation irresponsibly. However, the “Fuzzybear” avatar still generated widespread reactions among XRP supporters following Ripple-related developments closely.
Earlier XRP holders especially revisited memories tied to the network’s early years following the profile update. Meanwhile, many community members continue monitoring whether Schwartz will eventually replace the “Fuzzybear” image or keep it as his profile picture longer.
