Flare CEO Reveals Six-Month XRPFi Roadmap as FXRP Adoption Tops 150 Million

  • Flare’s six-month roadmap expands XRPFi through FXRP, giving XRP holders access to staking, lending, and liquidity across decentralized finance applications.
  • Confidential Compute technology will enable institutions to execute private transactions while preserving on-chain verification through trusted execution environments.
  • Stablecoin liquidity remains essential before lending markets mature, while XRP price still reflects broader market conditions more than integrations.

Flare Networks co-founder and CEO Hugo Philion has unveiled a six-month roadmap aimed at expanding the XRPFi ecosystem. According to Philion, the first technical integrations will begin within two weeks, allowing XRP holders to access decentralized finance services through Flare’s programmable infrastructure.

According to Philion, the initiative is designed to address one of the XRP Ledger’s long-standing limitations. While XRPL was built for fast and low-cost payments, it does not natively support smart contracts. Consequently, many XRP holders have remained unable to participate in decentralized finance applications without using external solutions.

Flare plans to bridge that gap through its FAssets protocol, enabling users to convert XRP into FXRP at a one-to-one ratio using supported wallets. As a result, XRP holders can access staking, liquidity pools, and decentralized lending while maintaining exposure to their assets.

Meanwhile, early adoption has gained momentum, with FXRP issuance surpassing 150 million tokens, highlighting growing interest in expanding XRP’s utility beyond payments.

Flare targets larger XRP participation

According to Philion, Flare aims to attract up to 5 billion XRP into the XRPFi ecosystem over time. That figure represents roughly five percent of XRP’s total supply. Besides increasing decentralized finance participation, such adoption could reduce the amount of XRP available on cryptocurrency exchanges.

Moreover, Flare is preparing infrastructure designed to support institutional participation. The network intends to introduce Confidential Compute technology powered by trusted execution environments, commonly known as TEEs. This feature will allow institutions to execute large trades and access lending markets without exposing commercially sensitive information.

At the same time, transaction verification will remain on-chain. Therefore, institutions can preserve privacy while maintaining cryptographic proof that transactions are valid.

Stablecoin liquidity remains a key requirement

However, Philion indicated that technical deployment represents only one phase of the roadmap. Institutional participants are still expected to conduct security reviews before integrating newly launched bridges and decentralized finance products into their operations.

Additionally, Flare acknowledged that stronger stablecoin liquidity remains essential for a fully functional lending ecosystem. Assets such as USDT and USDC will provide the liquidity required to support borrowing and lending activity across the network.

Meanwhile, XRP’s price is expected to remain influenced by broader cryptocurrency market conditions. Bitcoin’s direction and macroeconomic developments still play a larger role in short-term price movements than individual ecosystem upgrades. Consequently, infrastructure progress may take time to translate into measurable market activity.

Philion’s roadmap places Flare’s attention on expanding XRP’s role within decentralized finance through programmable infrastructure and institutional-ready technology. The project’s long-term progress will depend on adoption, liquidity growth, and the pace at which institutions embrace the new ecosystem.
