Kansas Jayhawks Put XRP in Spotlight Following Dominant 51-6 Season-Opening Game

In Brief:

  • Kansas showcased XRP during its dominant 51-6 victory, producing 613 offensive yards while limiting LIU to only 146 yards.
  • Ripple’s partnership places XRP patches across Kansas Athletics while supporting financial education, technology programs, and career development opportunities for graduates.
  • XRP branding also reaches supporters through Rock Chalk Fan Club and expands into Florida Athletics under another university partnership agreement.

Kansas football put XRP before a national college sports audience during its dominant 51-6 season-opening victory over Long Island University. According to the official Kansas Football account, a Sept. 7 video featured XRP alongside highlights from the convincing home performance.

The Jayhawks controlled the Sept. 4 matchup at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium, producing 613 yards while allowing only 146. Quarterback Isaiah Marshall strengthened Kansas’ attack with 246 passing yards, two touchdowns, and another 49 yards on the ground.

Moreover, the decisive result moved Kansas to 1-0 and connected the program’s successful opening game with its new Ripple partnership. The university announced the multi-year agreement in July, making XRP branding a visible element across every Kansas Athletics sports program.

Ripple Partnership Expands Beyond Jersey Branding

Under the agreement, Kansas athletes will wear XRP patches on their uniforms throughout competitions involving the university’s various sports teams. Kansas described the arrangement as the first cryptocurrency integration on jerseys within a college athletics program in the United States.

Jayhawk Sports Properties, the university’s local Learfield division, helped coordinate the partnership between Kansas Athletics and blockchain company Ripple. However, both organizations designed the agreement to deliver wider benefits beyond displaying XRP branding on uniforms and athletics marketing materials.

Ripple will support financial and technology education programs created for Kansas student-athletes and members of the broader university community. Additionally, the partnership intends to connect graduates with career opportunities across technology companies seeking candidates with relevant knowledge and experience. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse strengthens the partnership’s Kansas connection because he attended the university and grew up in nearby Topeka.

XRP Branding Reaches Fans and Florida Athletics

Kansas Athletics expanded the collaboration by launching the Rock Chalk Fan Club, a community championed by XRP, on Sept. 2. Members can receive exclusive content, merchandise opportunities, and other benefits linked to Kansas teams through the newly established digital platform.

Meanwhile, Ripple has secured another college sports partnership with Florida Athletics for the Florida Gators’ 2026 football season. XRP branding now appears on the field at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium and across selected Florida Athletics digital properties.

Furthermore, Ripple will support financial and technology education for Florida student-athletes, reflecting several features included within its Kansas agreement. Kansas’ commanding victory nevertheless gave XRP a notable showcase through game footage shared directly with the Jayhawks’ extensive supporter base.

Consequently, the partnership now combines athletic branding, fan engagement, education, and career development within Ripple’s expanding college sports strategy.
