In Brief:
- Kalshi traders are betting on XRP crossing $1.70, although its $1.53 price leaves an approximately 11% gap still to close.
- XRP briefly cleared $1.60 before retreating, making a return above that level an important step toward the higher price target.
- XRP’s 47.6% quarterly gain follows two losing quarters, while Kalshi’s contract depends on crossing $1.70 rather than ultimately closing there.
XRP traders on Kalshi are betting on a move above $1.70 before September ends, despite the token’s retreat from $1.60. At the $1.53 price cited in the report, XRP would need to gain approximately 11% to reach that level.
According to Kalshi’s September market, traders can buy contracts that pay out if XRP crosses $1.70 during the month. Their wagers show interest in another advance, although the market’s changing odds do not guarantee that the price will rise.
XRP recently moved above $1.60, ending a period in which that level had repeatedly limited its recovery. However, the token subsequently gave up those gains, leaving traders to assess whether buyers can regain control.
A move back above $1.60 would bring XRP closer to the price in Kalshi’s contract. Conversely, further losses would increase the gain required to reach $1.70 before the market’s deadline.

XRP has risen approximately 47.6% during the third quarter, according to the performance figure cited in the report. The gain follows two consecutive losing quarters and marks a recovery from some of the token’s earlier declines.
September’s move above $1.60 added to that recovery and gave traders a nearby reference point for their $1.70 wagers. Nevertheless, XRP’s retreat to around $1.53 shows that its quarterly performance has not prevented shorter-term price reversals.
The distinction matters for Kalshi’s market because its contract concerns a price crossing, not XRP’s closing price on September 30. XRP could therefore meet the condition during a brief rally, even if it later falls below $1.70.
Likewise, traders can change their positions as XRP’s price moves, causing the market’s implied odds to fluctuate. Those odds represent current wagers on a defined outcome rather than a forecast that every trader shares.
XRP’s next test lies around the $1.60 area it recently cleared and then surrendered. Regaining that level would reduce the distance to $1.70, while another setback would leave Kalshi traders facing a larger required rebound.
