Samsung Electronics will introduce USDC stablecoin transfers to 82 million Galaxy devices in the United States through its Samsung Wallet application. The service will use Solana blockchain infrastructure to support international payments without requiring customers to install separate cryptocurrency applications.

According to Samsung’s Thursday announcement, the feature will launch during the final week of October for eligible American Galaxy users. Customers will access cross-border transfers directly through Samsung Wallet, which will also support fiat currency conversions.

The integration will allow users to send USDC to compatible external cryptocurrency wallets without managing private keys themselves. Additionally, Solana and Sui will support the underlying infrastructure, while licensed stablecoin custodian Bastion will participate in the payment framework.

Samsung will not charge customers for USDC transfers, although receiving wallets and cryptocurrency exchanges may impose additional transaction fees. Transfer speeds will depend on network conditions, while the service will also support international bank payments.

Customers will be able to transfer funds to eligible bank accounts across more than 60 countries, with recipients receiving local currencies. Fees associated with these bank transfers will vary depending on the destination.

Samsung Expands Coinbase Partnership to Support USDC Custody

Samsung’s stablecoin integration builds on its existing partnership with Coinbase, which expanded through Samsung Pay services in October 2025. The earlier collaboration allowed eligible American Galaxy customers to fund their Coinbase accounts directly through Samsung’s payment platform.

According to Coinbase infrastructure products head Alec Lovett, Coinbase Prime will provide custody services for USDC balances held within Samsung Wallet. Lovett described Samsung’s extensive device distribution as an important milestone for expanding access to the dollar-backed stablecoin.

Meanwhile, Samsung Wallet executive Woncheol Chai emphasized the company’s intention to simplify international transfers through existing smartphone payment services. The integration will allow eligible customers to access stablecoin transfers without handling private keys or downloading additional applications.

Samsung Plans Stablecoin Payment Expansion Beyond the United States

Solana Foundation President Lily Liu welcomed the development, highlighting Solana’s role in supporting stablecoin transactions through widely used consumer devices. Liu described the integration as an example of blockchain-based payments becoming part of everyday financial services.

Samsung also confirmed plans to introduce the service in additional international markets, subject to regulatory requirements across different jurisdictions. The initial rollout will cover eligible United States customers, while further expansion will depend on local compliance conditions.

The planned service combines USDC transfers, cryptocurrency custody, and international bank payments within Samsung’s existing digital wallet infrastructure. Samsung will begin its American rollout in late October, with Coinbase Prime and Bastion supporting different components of the integration.
