Lunate, the Abu Dhabi-based investment manager with $110 billion in assets, has teamed up with Brevan Howard, the renowned hedge fund managing $34 billion, to create a new investment platform in the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM). This $2 billion commitment marks Lunate’s major foray into hedge funds, signaling a bold expansion in its investment offerings.

The partnership will see Lunate introduce a series of exclusive funds based on Brevan Howard’s expertise in macro and digital assets. The partnership helps Lunate diversify its portfolio and further establish its presence in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. It is also in line with ADGM’s aspirations to reinforce Abu Dhabi as an international financial center.

Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Lunate’s Managing Partner, indicated that the alliance is part of Lunate’s strategy of cooperating with leading investment companies. Strengthening Abu Dhabi’s Financial Hub Status

Brevan Howard, which established its regional headquarters in ADGM in 2023, has seen its largest office by assets under management grow in the region. The new platform will aid Abu Dhabi in benefiting from its increasing status as a financial powerhouse by utilizing the strong regulatory framework and access to global markets under ADGM.

Lunate has additionally signed HSBC Bank UK as its first international Authorized Participant for its UCITS and SCA-regulated ETFs. The collaboration enhances the liquidity and trading performance of Lunate ETFs listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) and the Dubai Financial Market (DFM). HSBC’s worldwide presence and ETF experience will assist in increasing exposure to Lunate’s investment products.

These alliances help Lunate strengthen its hold as a market leader in the region’s financial sector and widen its investment base locally and internationally. The collaboration with Brevan Howard and HSBC exemplifies Lunate’s commitment to long-term growth and strategic diversification in the rapidly evolving financial markets.
