OKX Introduces Unique “Bitcoin Ordinals” Feature to its Wallet and NFT Marketplace

OKX “Bitcoin Ordinals” – As the first multi-chain platform to make Bitcoin ordinals viewable and transferrable, cryptocurrency exchange OKX is adding them to the OKX Wallet and the OKX NFT Marketplace. The lowest value of a Bitcoin, known as Satoshi, is represented by the Bitcoin NFTs or Bitcoin ordinals.

Bitcoin ordinals shocked the cryptocurrency industry by rescuing the NFT market and Bitcoin miners from the bear market’s financial crisis. As a result of the 2021 Bitcoin protocol improvement “Taproot” to provide a distinctive digital signature on Bitcoin, Bitcoin Ordinals was introduced this year.

BTC taproot addresses are now supported by OKX Wallet on the browser extension, and a mobile version will be available soon. Instead of maintaining individually via a Bitcoin-only wallet, customers can import their BTC wallets and view their Bitcoin ordinals through a single wallet.

“We had to act quickly to welcome the community of ordinals and provide them with a simple means of storing, managing, and soon minting ordinals within our wallet services.” According to OKX Chief Marketing Officer Haider Rafique, “I hope this integration helps bring more people in to play with this new utility and discover new possibilities on top of Bitcoin.”

The change comes after the OKX NFT Marketplace’s launch of Bitcoin Punks NFTs last month. Users could purchase ordinals using ETH thanks to OKX.

It’s interesting to note that the OKX NFT Marketplace will soon enable users to mint and exchange Ordinals on the system. It will make it easier and more affordable for people to generate, purchase, and sell Ordinals.

Hong Fang, CEO of OKCoin and OKX, tweeted about the intriguing events. She disclosed that many Ordinals functionalities are being added to the OKX Wallet by OKX. Hong Fang added, “Satoshi Nakamoto sent their final message 12 years ago today.”
