- XRP Ledger quietly gains Zero-Knowledge Proofs, unlocking privacy-focused financial transactions globally.
- New XRP upgrade introduces shielded payments and private settlement channels for institutions.
- DNA Protocol’s $XDNA token aligns with Ripple’s new privacy-enabled blockchain framework.
According to Pumpius (@pumpius), a major but mostly overlooked change has taken place within the XRP Ledger. Developers have quietly integrated Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs) into Ripple’s core software, adding a powerful layer of privacy to one of the most institutionally adopted blockchains in the world.
This development, he notes, introduces advanced confidentiality features that could reshape how financial institutions manage sensitive transactions.
The upgrade enables shielded transactions and private settlement channels, while also introducing new transaction types such as ZkDeposit, ZkWithdraw, and ZkPayment. These functions strengthen privacy at the protocol level, allowing compliant yet secure operations for large-scale settlements.
Consequently, institutions using Ripple’s infrastructure may soon gain access to a privacy-focused framework without compromising transparency or regulatory standards.
XDNA and the Expansion of Privacy on XRP Ledger
In addition, Pumpius highlighted the growing role of the DNA Protocol, which has been developing identity and token frameworks focused on privacy within the XRP ecosystem. Its native token, $XDNA, is built to interact with decentralized data layers that align closely with the new Zero-Knowledge functionality.

This alignment suggests that Ripple’s network could evolve into a dual-layer system where XRP functions as the public-facing asset, and XDNA serves as a private layer for shielded settlements and identity-based operations. Such a setup could allow financial institutions to move liquidity confidentially while maintaining auditable and compliant systems.
The quiet integration of ZK technology reflects a broader industry trend toward privacy in digital finance. By embedding Zero-Knowledge Proofs directly into its ledger, Ripple enhances both confidentiality and trust, positioning the XRP ecosystem for a new stage of secure and privacy-focused global transactions.
