Ripple CEO Releases Important Message to XRP Holders Amid Price Hike

  • Ripple CEO warns XRP holders as scammers exploit price surge momentum.
  • AI tools now fueling impersonation scams targeting unsuspecting XRP investors.
  • Ripple confirms no official giveaways amid rising fraudulent online activity.

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has issued a fresh warning to XRP holders as the token’s value experiences a sharp rise. According to Garlinghouse, the ongoing market rally has been accompanied by a significant increase in online scams, especially on YouTube, targeting unsuspecting members of the XRP community.

Garlinghouse revealed that scammers have been hijacking legitimate YouTube channels and rebranding them to impersonate Ripple’s official account. Such accounts then advertise scam XRP giveaways, with a false statement that Ripple or its officials endorse them.

Garlinghouse clarified that he and the company will never require the users to send XRP for any reason.

The trend is not in doubt and has been evidenced by Ripple, which says that these scams have been on the increase in the past few weeks. Fraudsters replicate all the official branding, username, and visuals of Ripple to deceive the audience.

The avenue used to transmit the fraudulent content is mostly bogus live streams or doctored videos that offer unrealistic returns.

In his statement, Garlinghouse urged XRP advocates to stay vigilant and promptly report any unethical activities without hesitation. He emphasized the need to remain vigilant because fraudsters are doing even better business in the bull market.

AI-Powered Impersonation Scams Raise New Concerns

On June 13, Ripple’s legal team issued a formal warning to the cryptocurrency community, raising concerns over the growing use of artificial intelligence in ongoing XRP-related scams.

The Chief Legal Officer of the Ripple firm, Stuart Alderoty, has taken the position that scammers have turned to the new technology of deepfake voice cloning to pose as top managers, including the CEO, Brad Garlinghouse.

These are AI-enabled scams, which are also being implemented to advertise fake investments and scam giveaways. Ripple indicated that this kind of tricking is getting more effective, and users have more problems determining false information.

Alderoty made it clear that Ripple does not plan or support proceedings for the XRP giveaway in any manner.

The company reported frequent fraud strategies, including phishing links, fraudulent investment groups, and schemes aimed at establishing mutual trust and then stealing money.

Alderoty recommended that crypto users avoid clicking on unfamiliar links, respond to unsolicited messages, and never reveal or use personal keys/recovery phrases in any way.

Ripple admitted that the issue of rising scams has affected several investors. Nevertheless, the company has encouraged the crypto community to be very vigilant. It also reminded people that all the official messages coming out of Ripple will be published only on verified platforms.

Conclusion

With XRP gaining momentum, Ripple’s leadership is reminding the community to exercise caution. Both Garlinghouse and Alderoty have made it clear that Ripple is not involved in giveaways. Users are urged to avoid responding to suspicious messages and always verify the source before engaging in any XRP-related activity.
