David Schwartz, Ripple’s Chief Technology Officer, recently revealed details about his new independent project—a high-performance server hub designed specifically for the XRP Ledger (XRPL). Schwartz emphasized that this endeavor is personal, separate from Ripple’s official projects, despite his executive position at the company.

Addressing a Crucial Need in XRPL Infrastructure
Significantly, Schwartz noted his motivation stemmed from identifying a clear gap within the XRPL ecosystem. After several years of not operating his own XRPL infrastructure, Schwartz decided it was essential to launch a robust server to better support validators and critical applications.
Additionally, Schwartz’s server infrastructure will boast impressive hardware, including an AMD 9950X processor and 256GB of RAM. This powerful combination aims to enhance XRPL’s performance significantly, ensuring seamless operation for its validators and applications.
Moreover, the server will feature substantial storage capacity, including a 2TB SATA SSD for the boot drive, alongside two 2TB NVMe SSDs configured in software RAID 0 for optimal NuDB performance. A 10GB unmetered internet connection further ensures constant uptime and efficient network response.
Besides, Schwartz has chosen Ubuntu LTE as the server’s operating system due to its proven reliability and robust security features. Strategically positioned in a datacenter in New York City, the server is designed to maximize accessibility and network resilience.

Significantly, Schwartz clarified that reserved slots on this new server would prioritize XRPL’s UNL validators, essential hubs, and critical applications. While excess capacity will be available publicly, priority will remain exclusively for these reserved infrastructure participants.
