- Scammers impersonate Bitget to trick SHIB holders with fake emails.
- SHIB token burn rate explodes with over 3.5 million removed.
- Crypto expert warns users to avoid suspicious airdrop claim links.
Members of the Shiba Inu (SHIB) community are being warned of a new scam that impersonates the cryptocurrency exchange Bitget. According to crypto watchdog account Susbarium (@susbarium) on X, scammers have started sending fraudulent emails disguised as official Bitget Web3 communication, targeting SHIB holders and the wider crypto audience.
The email looks like it advertises a fake airdrop campaign, asking users to secure early airdrop points and promising Multichain gas fee coverage and Access to Launchpad & Get Drop. The message has a link that reads “claim airdrop,” and Susbarium has warned forcefully not to click this link.
To raise even more red flags, these emails usually begin with a generic salutation like “Hello Valued Customer” and have questionable email addresses like “[email protected].” According to the specialist, all these are typical indicators of phishing efforts to inform users that a fraud is being attempted quickly.
Consumers are also encouraged to verify all airdrops and promotions at official channels. Susbarium’s point was clear: when the offer seems too good to be true, it probably is. The most important thing is caution when maneuvering airdrops or giveaways within the crypto arena.

Massive SHIB Burn Pushes Daily Rate Up by Over 2,200%
Amid this scam alert, SHIB’s on-chain activity has seen a major spike, particularly in token burns. According to wallet tracker Shibburn, the SHIB community burned 3,579,805 SHIB in the last 24 hours, a 2,204.69 percent rise from the previous day.
Most of the transactions occurred on the same wallet, with one transaction sending 3,285,714 SHIB to a dead wallet. These burns are part of the community’s strategy to reduce the supply and make the token more scarce over time.
All in all, more than 410 trillion SHIB tokens have already been burned since the original trillion supply distribution in 2020. SHIB users globally are still supporting this massive initiative.
With SHIB token burns set to new highs, the desire to misuse the Shib community is also at an all-time high. SHIB holders are urged to remain alert, verify all offers, and report suspicious messages.
