Footballer Kylian Mbappe’s X Account was Hacked to Promote Scam

On 29 August, French footballer Kylian Mbappe’s account on the social network X was hacked. Numerous reports indicate that the hacker used the footballer’s account to promote a fraudulent cryptocurrency token, promising to ‘double’ any tokens sent to a specific address. Thanks to this post, the market value of the so-called Kylian Mbappé token (MBAPPE) rose to $460 million and then fell to less than $100,000. The post was later deleted.

In the post, the attackers posted a contract for tokens on the Solana network. The asset itself was launched on the pump.fun platform. According to Lookonchain, one of the users invested 7156 SOL ($1.03 million) in this token. After the creators of MBAPPE conducted a rug pull, the price of the asset plummeted. The value of this trader’s token portfolio dropped to $9,200.

Io.net Collaborates with FLock.io to Introduce PoAI

io.net started a collaboration with FLock.io, a decentralized AI training platform, to introduce Proof of AI (PoAI). According to reports, the new consensus mechanism aims to improve the integrity of the decentralized network. Essentially, this system uses artificial intelligence tasks to verify that all computers in the network are working properly, maintaining fairness and efficiency. The mechanism involves an engine that continuously provides tasks, collects responses, and provides statistics to make decisions in a decentralized and artificial way.

Milan Amin, chief marketing officer of io.net, said that PoAI will “enable decentralized networks to become more a trusted and scalable solution for AI applications.”

The PoAI mechanism is designed to ensure that DePIN participants provide computing resources, rather than simply simulate participation to receive a reward. Amin said the mechanism “ensures that honest contributors are fairly compensated” and that those seeking to benefit without actually contributing are ‘deterred’. According to him, PoAI ‘represents a significant leap forward’ in the development of decentralized AI systems. The implementation of the new consensus will allow the integrity of DePIN nodes to be justified in a ‘decentralized and AI-native way’ when making judgments of io.net nodes.
