XRP Lawsuit Resolution Imminent? This SEC Update Ignites Hope

While the XRP community has been clamoring for positive news regarding a decisive end to the long-running Ripple lawsuit, the SEC has focused on resolving other crypto cases, seemingly leaving XRP community members in the dark.

Over the past month, the regulatory commission has both dismissed and paused high-profile cases against top crypto firms including Binance, Coinbase, Robinhood, Uniswap, Consensys, Kraken, and most recently, Cumberland DRW.

Even though no significant update has been given about the Ripple case, the recent trend in enforcement back down has ignited hopes within the XRP community about an imminent resolution. Such hope was heightened today following a crucial announcement by the SEC.

SEC to Hold Closed Door Meeting to Discuss Key Agendas

The United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced an upcoming private meeting scheduled to be held on Thursday, March 6 at 2:00 PM ET. Notably, the meeting has attracted the attention of the XRP community, particularly about the next step toward resolving the Ripple lawsuit for good.

According to the SEC Sunshine Act Notice, the meeting would discuss key topics including institution and settlement of injunctive actions, institution and settlement of administrative proceedings, resolution of litigation claims, and other matters relating to examinations and enforcement proceedings.

XRP Community Reacts

Meanwhile, the anticipated meeting has ignited speculations across the XRP community with key figures suggesting that the Ripple lawsuit might be one of the discussed topics, especially under the “resolution of litigation claims” agenda.

Crypto pundit, Amonyx on X, pointed out the relevance of the meeting to the XRP lawsuit. In a recent tweet, he questioned if the meeting signals a final resolution in the case. Other notable figures including John Reed Stark, a former SEC official, highlighted that the Ripple lawsuit could be the “next on the chopping block.”

Meanwhile, 36crypto previously reported that former White House official, Anthony Scaramucci, opined that the SEC has already secretly tossed the Ripple lawsuit and is yet to openly announce it. This has added to the growing speculation of a big positive news coming soon.

Moreover, it is worth mentioning that the meeting falls a day after the anticipated first White House crypto summit scheduled for March 7. Analysts have speculated that the major regulatory decisions might be made before the summit.

It is important to note, however, that the SEC has not disclosed any intention to discuss XRP in its coming private meeting as the outcome of the meeting is mostly kept in-house. The XRP community and the broader crypto industry will continue to watch closely for any sign of a possible resolution.
