Standard Chartered Goes Bullish on XRP, Drops Major Prediction

XRP could be on the verge of a major price rally, according to a new report by Standard Chartered Bank. The investment bank projected that the Ripple-linked token might climb to $12.50 before the end of Donald Trump’s potential second term in office.

On Tuesday, the bank issued its report indicating its XRP prediction for the short, mid, and long-term. According to analysts at the bank, XRP would reach $5.50 by the end of 2025 before moving to $8 in late 2026, followed by $10.40 at the end of 2027 and achieving the peak value of $12.50 at the end of 2028.

The bold prediction was backed by Ripple’s rising role and partnerships in international payments. Recall that XRP’s price surged significantly after Donald Trump won the November 2024 election, indicating investors’ confidence that the SEC would cease its lawsuit against Ripple.

According to Standard Chartered, the same political environment could lead to beneficial market conditions in the future.

Standard Chartered noted that XRP is positioned at the core of one of the fastest-growing sectors in digital finance, cross-border payments. It compared XRP Ledger’s use case to stablecoins like Tether, which are widely used for efficient financial transactions.

XRP was trading at $1.93 at the time of reporting, marking a gain of over 7 percent in a single day.

XRP’s Payment Role Strengthens Its Long-Term Outlook

The report also highlighted Ripple’s plans to expand XRPL into the tokenization space, further increasing its utility. This move could enhance XRP’s relevance beyond payments and broader digital asset infrastructure.

According to their estimation, the bank projects that stablecoin transactions will increase by 1000% within four years, and the XRPL is positioned to benefit from this since it performs a comparable service for global value transmission.

Standard Chartered finds that the strong market potential outclasses network developer limitations and reduced value capture compared to other networks. The study predicted that XRP will keep the same speed of market value growth as Bitcoin over the upcoming years.

The predicted growth of XRP depends on three major contributing factors: political developments, regulatory modifications, and market expansion initiatives. Investors will continue to monitor the XRP market closely as Standard Chartered sets an elevated price forecast for the coin.
