Michael Saylor Reveals How He Gained 4.3M Followers Promoting Bitcoin on X

Michael Saylor, founder of Strategy, has disclosed how he built a massive following on X by focusing on Bitcoin advocacy. Speaking at the recent Strategy World event, Saylor shared that he knew nothing about posting on Twitter when he first entered the crypto space in 2020.

After noticing that several crypto influencers had audiences in the hundreds of thousands, Saylor realized the power of social media. He and his team decided to create similar content but focused solely on Bitcoin.

This meant that Michael Saylor and his team aimed to give Bitcoin the recognition it deserved, portraying it as the best and most efficient investment asset.

As Saylor admitted, he made several unpolished posts on Twitter from the start. He said that he used to observe other beginners perform the same blunders; they created unmoving content.

In this phase of learning, he was assisted by Bitcoin figure Samson Mow in designing posts that contained teasers of the links that he intended to share, hence enhancing user engagement.

From Twitter Amateur to Bitcoin Influencer

Saylor and his marketing team developed a structured content approach to enhance visibility. They began taking clips from his television appearances, such as on CNBC, formatting them correctly, and pairing them with compelling captions. These posts frequently reached audiences much larger than the original broadcast.

As time went by, his approach became more elaborate. He began emphasizing the use of appropriate hashtags while attaching his full name alongside the Bitcoin tag. One of his most viewed videos was a four-hour podcast interview with Lex Fridman that garnered more than 10,000 views daily even after its publication.

Saylor credited the Bitcoin community with teaching him essential digital skills. He and his group understood how to write and present their posts appropriately for the intended online audience.

Michael Saylor’s journey shows how focused messaging and platform understanding can drive digital influence. From struggling to write his first tweet to becoming one of the most followed Bitcoin voices on X, he has 4.3 million followers due to Strategy and a consistent Bitcoin message.
