Ripple has announced a new initiative offering up to $200,000 in grant funding for Japanese Web3 startups building on the XRP Ledger. The program is part of a broader collaboration with Web3 Salon, supported by JETRO and powered by Asia Web3 Alliance Japan.
The XRPL Japan and Korea Fund backs the initiative and contributes to Ripple’s ongoing 1 billion XRP commitment to support blockchain innovation in Asia. It aims to accelerate the development of decentralized finance platforms, tokenized real-world assets, and digital payment systems.
Potential investments will be decided by assessing growth, technical advancements, and how closely they suit Ripple’s needs. In addition to helping with finances, those involved will become part of Ripple’s world network of partners, experts, and customers.
In an interview, Christina Chan, Senior Director of Developer Growth at RippleX, explained that Ripple’s partnership with Web3 Salon is meant to encourage new ideas and assist the startup scene in Japan. It is designed to help people at the beginning of their Web3 careers who are eager to boost Web3 usage in South Korea.
