Huge News: Ripple Partners With DriveWealth to Bring RLUSD Stablecoin Settlement to Global Trading

Summary

  • Ripple and DriveWealth have partnered to integrate RLUSD stablecoin settlement into brokerage infrastructure, supporting faster international transactions and improved funding.
  • DriveWealth will integrate Ripple Payments and custody services while exploring equity financing opportunities through Ripple Prime’s institutional Delta One business.
  • The partnership connects Ripple’s blockchain solutions with DriveWealth’s global network of over 100 partners, expanding access to digital financial services.

Ripple has partnered with global brokerage platform DriveWealth to integrate stablecoin settlement, cross-border payments, and digital asset custody into trading infrastructure. According to the company’s announcement, the partnership will initially support RLUSD settlement in Europe, with plans to expand into the United States.

The agreement aims to reduce funding delays for financial institutions and fintech companies that provide international investors access to U.S. markets. It also connects Ripple’s blockchain infrastructure with DriveWealth’s existing brokerage services.

Ripple and DriveWealth Target Faster Settlement With RLUSD Integration

DriveWealth will integrate Ripple’s stablecoin infrastructure to support settlement using RLUSD on the XRP Ledger. The arrangement also includes Ripple’s minting and burning capabilities, allowing institutions to manage stablecoin issuance and redemption.

Through this integration, DriveWealth clients will gain additional options for funding trading accounts and managing collateral. Stablecoin transfers could allow clients to access funds without waiting for traditional international bank wires.

Currently, U.S. equity transactions settle within one business day under the T+1 framework. Cross-border transfers can take longer, creating funding gaps for institutions operating across different markets. Ripple Payments will also support international fund transfers from DriveWealth’s global partners, helping improve payment processing across jurisdictions.

Meanwhile, DriveWealth plans to use Ripple’s digital asset custody services in Europe before extending those capabilities into other markets. The partnership also covers potential equity financing opportunities through Ripple Prime’s Delta One business. Both companies will explore institutional financing services involving U.S. equities and equity derivatives.

DriveWealth CEO Naureen Hassan emphasized the importance of aligning funding capabilities with extended trading hours.

“We’ve already enabled 24/5 trading; now we need the funding to match,” Hassan stated.

Ripple Expands Institutional Reach Through DriveWealth’s Global Network

DriveWealth provides brokerage infrastructure to more than 100 global partners, including financial institutions, fintech platforms, and digital wallets. Its partnership with Ripple could introduce blockchain payment and custody services across this existing network of investment providers.

Ripple brings institutional blockchain infrastructure and a regulatory footprint spanning more than 85 licenses across different jurisdictions. Additionally, DriveWealth intends to integrate its treasury and custody operations with Ripple’s infrastructure, supporting unified management of traditional and digital assets.

Jack McDonald, Ripple’s senior vice president of stablecoins, explained that the collaboration initially centered on cross-border settlement challenges.

“DriveWealth came to Ripple with a specific challenge around cross-border settlement,” McDonald stated.

Companies Prepare to Present Partnership at Ripple Swell

Ripple and DriveWealth will discuss their collaboration during Ripple Swell in New York City on October 28. The companies plan to expand stablecoin settlement beyond Europe while developing additional custody and financing capabilities. The agreement positions RLUSD within DriveWealth’s brokerage operations, connecting digital asset settlement with international investment services.
