Cardano Founder Explodes Over XRP Attack Claims as ETHgate Returns Again

Cardano Founder Explodes Over XRP Attack Claims as ETHgate Returns Again

  • Hoskinson denied XRP conspiracy claims while criticizing renewed ETHgate accusations online.
  • Ripple relations improved despite previous conflicts between Hoskinson and XRP supporters.
  • Crypto regulation debates continue fueling tensions surrounding Ethereum, Ripple, and XRP communities.

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has rejected accusations linking him to alleged efforts against XRP through regulatory pressure. According to posts shared on X, a social media user accused Hoskinson of coordinating with Ethereum insiders to weaken Ripple during the SEC lawsuit. Consequently, the allegations quickly spread across XRP-focused discussions online.

Hoskinson responded directly and dismissed the accusations completely. He explained that Ethereum insiders removed him from the project in 2014 and criticized him publicly for years afterward. Therefore, he argued that claims suggesting he later worked alongside Ethereum supporters against XRP were unreasonable.

Moreover, Hoskinson stressed that there was never evidence proving Ethereum insiders coordinated attacks against Ripple or XRP. According to his statements, regulators handled the cryptocurrency industry poorly, but not through deliberate favoritism toward Ethereum.

The renewed dispute also brought back memories of the intense conflict between Hoskinson and sections of the XRP community during 2022 and 2023. During that period, many XRP supporters criticized him heavily for rejecting ETHgate claims publicly.

XRP Community Revives ETHgate Debate Against Hoskinson

According to the shared reports, tensions escalated significantly after Hoskinson repeatedly denied conspiracy theories involving Ethereum and Ripple. Consequently, online disagreements between both communities intensified for several months.

Hoskinson eventually described parts of the XRP community as toxic and petty during the height of those disputes. Additionally, he announced that he would stop discussing XRP, Ripple, and the SEC lawsuit publicly because of continued personal attacks.

However, relations between Hoskinson and Ripple executives improved during 2024. Hoskinson later extended an olive branch to the XRP community and held discussions with Ripple chief executive Brad Garlinghouse and Ripple chief technology officer David Schwartz.

Despite those efforts, the latest confrontation showed that distrust surrounding ETHgate still remains active within parts of the XRP community. Besides, Ripple’s ongoing regulatory history continues fueling speculation whenever major crypto figures comment on XRP publicly.

Additionally, the renewed clash arrives while cryptocurrency regulation remains one of the industry’s most sensitive topics. As a result, discussions involving Ripple, Ethereum, and XRP continue generating strong reactions across social media platforms.

In conclusion, Hoskinson attempted to shut down accusations connecting him to anti-XRP regulatory efforts. However, the latest backlash confirmed that the ETHgate controversy still divides sections of the cryptocurrency community.
