What to Know
- XRPL surpassed one million AI-powered commercial transactions through x402 as XRPL AI Hub launched alongside updated ecosystem activity data release.
- Heurist Mesh and LucyOS generated most AI payments while AskSurf expanded real-time data purchases across the XRP Ledger ecosystem efficiently.
- Vet said predictable fees, fast settlement and built-in decentralized exchange strengthen XRPL for autonomous machine payments using XRP and RLUSD.
The XRP Ledger has processed more than one million AI-powered commercial transactions through the x402 protocol, according to data released by t54 and the XRP Ledger Foundation. The milestone coincided with the launch of the XRPL AI Hub, offering new insight into how autonomous AI agents are using XRP and Ripple USD for machine-to-machine payments.
According to XRPL Foundation contributor Vet, the figures show that AI-driven commerce has progressed beyond experimental testing. Instead, autonomous software agents now execute commercial payments across multiple services without direct human involvement. The XRPL AI Hub currently tracks 121 active merchants. However, most payment activity comes from a small group of infrastructure providers supporting AI applications and automated computing services.

AI platforms dominate transaction activity on XRPL
According to the published data, Heurist Mesh leads the network with 404,091 transactions. The decentralized platform allows AI agents to rent GPU computing power automatically for model inference and other processing tasks. Meanwhile, LucyOS generated 367,733 transactions through its operating system built for autonomous AI agents. The platform enables software agents to exchange services and coordinate workloads while handling payments independently.
AskSurf recorded another 23,076 transactions by purchasing structured data in real time to support its AI-powered search capabilities. Besides those leading platforms, dozens of additional wallets contributed the remaining transaction volume. Each wallet averaged roughly 2,400 operations, suggesting developers have started deploying standardized autonomous AI agents across different applications. Consequently, the latest figures indicate that commercial AI payments now represent measurable activity on the XRP Ledger rather than isolated experiments.
Predictable fees support autonomous AI payments
According to Vet, the x402 protocol removes people from the settlement process because software agents manage balances directly instead of relying on bank cards or conventional payment systems. Moreover, XRPL’s fixed and low transaction fees help developers estimate operating costs with greater accuracy. That consistency becomes increasingly important because AI agents often perform thousands of transactions during routine operations.
Additionally, the network offers fast settlement speeds and access to global XRP liquidity. Its built-in decentralized exchange also enables automatic asset conversion at any time without depending on external platforms. According to Vet, those features make the XRP Ledger well suited for the growing agentic economy, where autonomous software regularly exchanges value without human involvement.
t54 co-founder Chandler Feng also acknowledged the milestone. According to Feng, development progressed gradually before adoption accelerated rapidly, resulting in more than one million AI-powered commercial transactions. The transaction data also shows that over 77% of total activity originated from the three largest AI infrastructure providers. That concentration reflects growing adoption among platforms already integrating automated payment capabilities into their services.
Conclusion
The one million transaction milestone and the launch of the XRPL AI Hub highlight expanding commercial use of the XRP Ledger by autonomous AI agents. According to data from t54 and the XRP Ledger Foundation, XRP and RLUSD are increasingly supporting machine-to-machine payments across a growing network of AI-powered applications.
