XRPL Adoption Jumps in Q2 Even as XRP Price Drops Nearly 20%

Summary

  • XRPL stablecoin value reached $825.5 million, while RLUSD climbed 256% and tokenized real-world assets expanded significantly during the second quarter.
  • XRPL processed over 222 million transactions while average fees fell to $0.00024, highlighting substantial network activity at exceptionally low costs.
  • Global XRP ETP inflows surpassed $253 million despite XRP falling 19.9%, showing ecosystem growth does not automatically strengthen token price performance.

The XRP Ledger recorded major growth across stablecoins and tokenized assets in Q2 2026, despite XRP losing considerable market value. According to Blockworks’ State of XRP Q2 2026 report, stablecoin value on XRPL climbed nearly 200% to $825.5 million.

Ripple’s RLUSD dominated that segment, reaching $676.9 million following a 256% increase from the previous quarter. Additionally, stablecoin transfer volume jumped 207% to $10 billion, reflecting greater movement of dollar-linked assets across the network.

Tokenized real-world assets also expanded considerably, with their total value increasing by 102% to reach $4.46 billion during Q2. However, XRP ended the quarter at $1.04, representing a 19.9% decline despite broader growth across several XRPL sectors. This gap shows that increased ledger adoption does not necessarily produce an immediate increase in demand for XRP itself.

XRPL Processes 222 Million Transactions at Minimal Cost

Network activity remained substantial during the quarter, with XRPL processing more than 222 million transactions across its growing ecosystem. That marked the second-highest quarterly transaction count in XRPL history, with users still paying extremely small fees for transactions.

Average transaction costs fell from $0.00034 in Q1 to $0.00024 during Q2, marking the fifth consecutive quarterly decrease. Moreover, approximately 40,600 XRP was burned through fees generated from transactions completed across the ledger during the reporting period.

According to Blockworks, payments and transfers generated roughly $31,800, accounting for about 60% of XRPL’s total network revenue. Consequently, the network handled substantial transaction activity while capturing relatively little revenue from the value moving across its infrastructure.

Low transaction costs remain useful for network participants, although they also limit how much XRP gets consumed through transaction fees.

XRP Investment Products Attract More Capital

Institutional XRP products presented another contrast between ecosystem expansion and the cryptocurrency’s weaker price performance throughout the second quarter. Global XRP exchange-traded products attracted more than $253 million in Q2, representing a 45% increase from the previous quarter.

Meanwhile, XRP’s 19.9% decline showed that stronger investment product inflows did not translate directly into higher prices during the period. The figures also underline how XRPL adoption increasingly stretches beyond activity involving only transfers of the network’s native cryptocurrency.

Stablecoins such as RLUSD can support payments and settlements, while tokenized real-world assets broaden the ledger’s financial use cases. Additionally, expanding decentralized finance applications could increase the network’s relevance without producing proportional XRP demand from every transaction.

Therefore, XRP holders may not immediately benefit from every increase in XRPL activity, particularly while transaction costs remain extremely low.

Conclusion

Blockworks’ Q2 report shows an XRPL ecosystem expanding across several financial sectors, while XRP moved in the opposite direction. Stablecoin value, transfer volume, tokenized assets, transactions, and ETP inflows all increased despite XRP ending the quarter 19.9% lower.

The figures ultimately separate network adoption from token performance, showing that stronger XRPL usage does not automatically translate into higher XRP prices.
