Bitcoin ETFs Capture $101 Million as XRP, Ethereum and Solana Funds Lose Capital

Bitcoin ETFs Capture $101 Million as XRP, Ethereum and Solana Funds Lose Capital

What to Know

  • Bitcoin spot ETFs attracted $101.15 million, while cumulative inflows reached $54.73 billion and combined net assets climbed to $97.22 billion.
  • Ethereum, XRP, and Solana ETFs recorded withdrawals, although they maintained positive monthly and cumulative inflow balances across broader trading histories.
  • XRP traded near $1.36, with the $1.35 support level potentially determining whether ETF withdrawals increase further or market demand stabilizes.

U.S. Bitcoin spot ETFs attracted $101.15 million on September 2, while altcoin products recorded net outflows. This divergence showed investors favoring Bitcoin while reducing exposure to Ethereum, XRP, and Solana funds.

According to SoSoValue data, cumulative Bitcoin ETF inflows reached $54.73 billion, while combined net assets climbed to $97.22 billion. Daily trading volume totaled approximately $1.73 billion, exceeding the activity recorded by every other cryptocurrency ETF category. That difference reflected investor preference for Bitcoin during a period of uneven demand across digital asset products.

However, Ethereum ETFs recorded $48.08 million in net outflows, placing the category among the session’s weaker performers. Despite those withdrawals, Ethereum funds retained positive 30-day flows of $1.83 billion and cumulative inflows near $13.03 billion.

XRP and Solana ETFs Face Investor Withdrawals

XRP ETFs recorded the largest altcoin withdrawal, with five products losing a combined $57.20 million during the session. Nevertheless, cumulative XRP ETF inflows remained positive at approximately $1.68 billion, preserving most previously invested institutional capital.

Their 30-day flow also stood at $165.22 million, showing broader demand remained positive despite the daily redemption. Meanwhile, Solana ETFs lost $6.13 million, representing a smaller withdrawal than those affecting Ethereum and XRP products.

Additionally, SOL funds maintained positive 30-day inflows of $197.60 million and cumulative inflows of approximately $1.34 billion. These figures indicate investors reduced altcoin positions without completely abandoning regulated cryptocurrency exposure outside Bitcoin.

XRP Price Tests Important Long-Term Support

XRP traded around $1.36 during the reporting period, bringing its 200-day moving average near $1.35 into view. Holding that area could support price stability and prevent a deeper correction across the market.

However, losing $1.35 could expose the 20-day exponential moving average near $1.29 as the next support zone. Consequently, XRP’s price direction may influence whether ETF investors maintain exposure or extend their recent withdrawals.

Overall, the September 2 data showed capital rotating within cryptocurrency ETFs rather than leaving the sector completely. Bitcoin captured the strongest daily demand, while altcoin products preserved positive monthly and cumulative inflow balances.
