Crypto Price Update: Bitcoin Drops Below $83,000 as XRP and Ethereum Extend Losses

Bitcoin (BTC) dropped below $83,000 as the broader cryptocurrency market recorded losses, with Ethereum (ETH), XRP, and Solana (SOL) also declining. According to CoinGecko data, Bitcoin fell 1.3% over 24 hours to $82,742.79, while its trading volume reached $35.93 billion.


The leading cryptocurrency maintained a market capitalization of $1.66 trillion, while Ethereum recorded a larger decline of 1.8% to $2,565.72. Ethereum’s daily trading volume reached $16.37 billion, bringing its market capitalization to $313.31 billion during the same trading period.


Meanwhile, XRP recorded a steeper decline than Bitcoin and Ethereum, falling 3.1% to $1.42 as its trading volume reached $2.22 billion. The cryptocurrency maintained a market capitalization of $89.30 billion, while Solana (SOL) also declined 2.2% to trade at $115.64.


Solana’s trading volume reached $2.74 billion, with its market capitalization standing at $68.12 billion as losses extended across other major cryptocurrencies. Dogecoin (DOGE) dropped 1.7% to $0.08865, while Hyperliquid (HYPE) recorded a larger decline of 3.3% to $87.72. Zcash (ZEC) also declined 2.5% to $1,296.94, bringing its market capitalization to $22.01 billion amid the broader market downturn.

BNB and TRON Record Gains as Smaller Altcoins Outperform Bitcoin and Ethereum

Despite losses across Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP, BNB and TRON recorded modest gains, while several smaller cryptocurrencies posted double-digit increases. BNB gained 0.6% to $768.97, with its market capitalization reaching $102.39 billion and daily trading volume totaling $776.52 million. Similarly, TRON (TRX) increased 1.0% to $0.3356, while its trading volume reached $364.08 million and market capitalization stood at $31.88 billion.


Among smaller cryptocurrencies, inu wif sword (SWORDINU) led the gainers with a 504.3% increase to $0.01766 and $12.26 million in trading volume. GRX Chain (GRX) followed with a 61.9% gain to $21.14, while Meteora (MET) climbed 49.6% to $0.4685.


Meteora recorded $227.92 million in trading volume, while Quantus (QTC) advanced 44.7% to $145.74 with $26.37 million in trading activity. Additionally, ShareX (SHARE) gained 43.5% to $0.878, while Quantum Resistant Ledger (QRL) increased 37.1% to $1.19.


Hookr.fun (HOOKR) also climbed 32.0% to $0.01908, while Precious Metals USD (PMUSD) gained 21.7% to trade at $0.5867. Overall, Bitcoin’s decline below $83,000 accompanied losses across Ethereum, XRP, and Solana, while BNB, TRON, and several smaller cryptocurrencies recorded gains.
