Zcash Whale Buys 3.69 Million MASK as Token Concentration Raises Market Risks

Zcash Whale Buys 3.69 Million MASK as Token Concentration Raises Market Risks

What to Know

  • A major Zcash whale accumulated 3.69 million MASK tokens worth $151,000, expanding exposure to Nullmask’s privacy-focused cryptocurrency ecosystem on Solana.
  • Arkham data reveals significant MASK ownership concentration, while limited liquidity and relatively low protocol deposits raise concerns about trading risks.
  • Zcash trades below its Bollinger Band average at $1,232.45, while an RSI of 42.86 indicates persistent bearish market momentum.

A major Zcash (ZEC) investor has accumulated 3.69 million Nullmask (MASK) tokens worth approximately $151,000 despite concerns surrounding token ownership, with the purchases occurring over three days through a wallet holding cryptocurrency assets exceeding $15 million, including 10,241 ZEC worth $11.69 million.

Nullmask operates on Solana and uses zero-knowledge technology to support private cryptocurrency transfers and swaps, while also offering ZEC-related holder rewards and announcing token buyback plans to support its ecosystem.

Arkham Data Reveals Major MASK Ownership Concentration

According to Arkham data, Nullmask’s largest wallet holds approximately 384.28 million MASK tokens, representing 39.36% of the total supply and carrying an estimated value approaching $16 million, while the six largest addresses collectively control over half the supply.

Rug.Tools also reported that the ten largest addresses controlled approximately 56.12% of MASK on October 18, while DeFiLlama data suggests the largest address belongs to Nullmask’s protocol treasury rather than an independent investor.

Still, questions remain regarding token restrictions, treasury management, and potential future distributions that could affect market liquidity, with Rug.Tools recording approximately $1.22 million in liquidity against a $23.64 million market capitalization.

Meanwhile, MASK carries a 3% transfer fee, increasing transaction costs for market participants, while DeFiLlama recorded approximately $58,000 in protocol total value locked, considerably below the token’s market valuation.

Zcash Price Remains Below Bollinger Band Average as RSI Signals Weakness

Zcash traded at $1,137.89 on the daily chart, recording a 1.12% decline amid weakening buying momentum, while TradingView data placed the 20-day Bollinger Band average at $1,232.45, above the cryptocurrency’s prevailing price.

Meanwhile, the upper Bollinger Band stood at $1,396.30, while the lower boundary indicated potential support around $1,068.60, with the Relative Strength Index registering 42.86, below its signal average of 44.04 and the neutral 50 threshold.

This reading indicates bearish momentum without confirming oversold conditions, while recent candles reflect limited recovery strength, even as the whale’s accumulation highlights growing MASK exposure despite concentrated ownership, limited liquidity, and relatively low protocol deposits. Meanwhile, Zcash’s technical indicators reflect weakening momentum, with key Bollinger Band levels providing reference points for subsequent price movements.
