What to Know
- Musk’s NFT joke drew Dogecoin attention, but his reply did not mention DOGE or indicate any plans to promote it.
- Dogecoin’s negative MVRV reading signals average unrealized losses among tracked holders, while historical monthly gains cannot establish another rally.
- An unidentified wallet transferred 250 million DOGE to Binance, raising selling questions, although the transaction does not reveal its owner’s intentions.
Dogecoin (DOGE) holders are navigating a negative valuation reading and a transfer to Binance, while Elon Musk’s NFT joke has drawn attention without indicating its next price move.
Musk’s NFT Joke Meets Dogecoin’s Negative Valuation Reading
Musk replied “lol” to an archived screenshot of his profile from the NFT boom, although his reaction neither mentioned DOGE nor suggested any plans to promote it. Meanwhile, CryptoRank figures show DOGE gained 14% in September, exceeding its historical September average of 12.5%, while November and December averaged 15.5% and 18.9%, respectively. Those monthly averages provide context for the final quarter, but past returns cannot establish another rally.

According to Santiment Intelligence, Dogecoin’s 365-day market-value-to-realized-value ratio, or MVRV, has fallen to minus 19.26%, indicating that tracked holders have unrealized losses on average, although positions differ.
Sanbase describes comparable readings as a strong buy zone based on previous DOGE recoveries, yet the designation cannot determine when demand might strengthen or exclude further losses. Holders facing unrealized losses could also behave differently during a rebound, as some may retain their coins while others sell around their purchase prices, limiting what the aggregate reading reveals about future supply.

Whale Alert reported that an unidentified wallet moved 250 million DOGE, valued at approximately $23.2 million near $0.093 per coin, to Binance, giving the owner access to exchange services and raising questions about potential selling pressure.
Even so, the transaction alone cannot show whether its owner intends to sell the coins, transfer funds between accounts, or use another service available through the exchange. Subsequent trading activity could shed more light on whether the DOGE reaches buyers, whereas MVRV describes the valuation of tracked holders rather than the intentions behind any particular wallet movement.
Musk’s comment provides no link to the wallet, and September’s gain cannot establish whether demand would absorb a sale of that size. As Dogecoin enters the final quarter, the negative valuation reading and exchange deposit offer useful context, but neither resolves where its price will go next.
