According to John Dennehy – founder of MPB, the program which will present diplomas to students upon completion will be the primary source material of course material.
In an interview with Cointelegraph, Dennehy disclosed that MPB and Bitcoin Beach will help carry out the Ministry of Education’s plan to integrate Bitcoin into the curriculum for public schools.
“As the first nation to adopt Bitcoin, El Salvador will be an example for the world. Quality education is our best chance to ensure that that example is a positive one,” he said.
Furthermore, the training of the 150 school teachers from across 75 schools is set to begin on September 7. This training will provide them with a “base knowledge” of the crypto asset.
Once coaching is completed, the teachers will return to their various schools and teach their students using the curriculum prepared by the Ministry of Education. Upon success, the curriculum will be introduced to every school in the country by 2024.
MPB’s goal is to spread Bitcoin Education to the world
Dennehy launched the Diploma program in 2022 with its first set of students beginning their Bitcoin education journey in May. MPB has a goal to spread Bitcoin Education to the world. The program in El Salvador is expected to reach over 300,000 residents with its program this year.
Bitcoin Beach community leader Roman Martínez revealed in a recent interview that more than 25,000 El Salvadoran students have already received Bitcoin Education in the classroom.
Moreover, Dennehy stressed that MPB’s focus goes beyond El Salvador. According to him, even though the Latin American country is currently the focus, its bigger goal is to introduce Bitcoin education to the other countries of the world.
He revealed that the organization is already working on a partnership with two other countries in Latin America that are inquiring about adopting a similar approach to their schools.
