What to Know
- NEAR Protocol trades near $4.97 as repeated failures to break the $5.60 resistance level limit its recovery from October highs.
- Buyers defend support around $4.80, while further selling pressure could push NEAR toward the stronger $4.30 support level below.
- NEAR’s RSI has declined toward 50 as trading volume weakens, despite major moving averages maintaining a broader upward trend.
NEAR Protocol faces a crucial resistance test at $5.60 as its price struggles to regain momentum following October’s rally. The cryptocurrency trades near $4.97, with buyers defending support while repeated attempts to break higher have failed.
NEAR previously climbed from approximately $1.60 in August to nearly $6.00 in mid-October, marking a substantial advance. Since reaching that peak, the token has traded within a narrower range as buying activity weakened.

NEAR Price Faces Resistance Between $5.40 and $5.60
Technical chart data places NEAR’s main resistance between $5.40 and $5.60 following several unsuccessful breakout attempts. Daily candles have repeatedly formed long upper wicks near this range, reflecting selling pressure whenever the price approaches resistance. A sustained move above $5.60 would bring the previous $6.00 high back into view.
Meanwhile, immediate support remains around $4.80, where buyers have defended the token during recent trading sessions. The short-term moving average stands near $4.83, reinforcing the importance of this price level.

Further weakness below $4.80 could expose $4.30, an area where NEAR previously rebounded earlier in October. Additionally, the 50-day moving average sits around $4.27, providing another technical reference near that support zone.
Momentum Weakens as NEAR Maintains Broader Uptrend
NEAR’s longer-term technical structure remains positive despite its retreat from October’s peak, with major moving averages sloping upward and the 200-day average standing near $2.80.
The Relative Strength Index has fallen toward 50 from readings above 85 during September’s rally, reflecting cooling momentum following the token’s earlier advance. Trading volume has also declined during consolidation, indicating reduced market participation as NEAR trades between established support and resistance levels.
A breakout above $5.60 accompanied by stronger volume would strengthen the case for another test of $6.00. Conversely, a daily close below $4.80 could shift attention toward the $4.30 support area. NEAR remains below its October high, with the $5.60 resistance level separating consolidation from a potential recovery.
