“Can I honestly say that I have nothing to do with the price of XRP? I guess probably nothing. But very little,” Schwartz wrote.
His response followed growing complaints from investors facing losses during XRP’s extended downturn. CoinMarketCap figures indicate that XRP has declined approximately 50% over the past year.
Several temporary recoveries have interrupted the decline, but the broader price trend has remained negative. Stellar, another cryptocurrency associated with payments, has experienced a comparable downturn.

Schwartz also criticized users who repeatedly interrupt unrelated X conversations with accusations of fraud, making ordinary interactions increasingly difficult. As a result, Schwartz has started blocking accounts that introduce unrelated XRP arguments, including supporters posting favorable comments in inappropriate discussions.
Still, Schwartz welcomed legitimate criticism supported by reasonable arguments and offered to unblock users who agreed to avoid similar disruptions. Meanwhile, Schwartz remains involved with Ripple as a board member and CTO Emeritus despite stepping away from daily executive duties in 2025.
Additionally, Schwartz confirmed that he meets with his former engineering team twice monthly, maintaining ties with Ripple’s technical operations. His remarks clarify his limited influence over XRP’s price while establishing boundaries for how investors engage with him on social media.
