Robinhood Plans AI Trading Agents and Crypto Futures for US Customers

Summary

  • Robinhood plans AI trading agents with dedicated accounts, customizable strategies, and manual transaction approval enabled by default for eligible customers.
  • Agent Apps will offer subscription access to specialist market data covering options activity, investor sentiment, and cryptocurrency fundamentals for agents.
  • Robinhood also plans cryptocurrency perpetual futures, weekend equities trading, and earnings contracts, with eligibility requirements and regulatory review.

Robinhood announced plans for in-app AI trading agents and cryptocurrency perpetual futures, expanding its product lineup for eligible US customers. According to Robinhood’s HOOD Summit 2026 announcement, the agents will support market research, strategy development, and automated trading.

The company unveiled the products in Houston, alongside plans for weekend equities trading and contracts tied to corporate earnings results. However, several offerings await rollout, while the proposed extension of equities trading hours remains subject to regulatory review.

Robinhood AI Agents Combine Automated Strategies With Customer Trading Controls

Customers will open dedicated agentic accounts, choose an AI model, and set instructions governing how their agents research and trade. Available models will include options from several AI developers, including OpenAI, while users retain control over their trading strategies.

Additionally, Robinhood will enable manual trade approval by default, allowing customers to review transactions before their agents execute them. Users can adjust this setting at any point, and agents can access only the funds within their dedicated accounts.

Robinhood also plans to introduce Loops, which will let customers turn trading strategies into recurring instructions for their agents. These instructions can trigger market checks or transactions when specified conditions occur, and customers can disable them whenever they choose.

Meanwhile, the company reported more than 150,000 agentic trading accounts since launching support for third-party AI agents in May. Those agents use Robinhood’s tools almost 30 million times daily, according to the company’s announcement at the Houston event.

Alongside its built-in agents, Robinhood announced Agent Apps, offering additional market data and specialist tools through subscriptions to external providers. Participating companies include Nasdaq, Unusual Whales, SpotGamma, and Token Terminal, with services covering options activity, investor sentiment, and cryptocurrency fundamentals.

Subscribers will receive a one-month trial for each app, although some participating providers will join following the initial launch. Both Robinhood Agents and Agent Apps will target eligible US customers, with the company yet to launch either offering.

Crypto Futures and Weekend Equities Trading Broaden Robinhood’s Planned Offerings

Robinhood’s planned perpetual futures will cover Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, Dogecoin, Cardano, Chainlink, and Hyperliquid, without contract expiration dates. Eligible customers will trade these products through Robinhood Derivatives and Bitstamp, taking either long or short positions within the app.

Bitcoin and Ethereum contracts will support leverage up to 10 times, while the other listed cryptocurrencies will offer three times. Moreover, traders will receive stop-loss and take-profit orders, real-time liquidation-price tracking, and alerts when their positions face liquidation risk.

Robinhood plans to charge 0.01% per trade through year-end, with perpetual futures access rolling out over the coming months. Separately, the brokerage intends to extend selected stock and exchange-traded fund trading into weekends, using Bruce ATS for execution.

The proposed service will expand the schedule available through Robinhood’s existing overnight equities market, pending regulatory review. Additionally, Robinhood announced earnings contracts through Cboe, covering outcomes such as whether companies beat earnings expectations or reach revenue targets.

These binary options will require options approval, with Robinhood planning access for eligible customers over the coming weeks. Robinhood’s rollout will proceed across separate products, while weekend equities trading depends on regulatory review and individual offerings retain eligibility requirements.
