In a recent development, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin disclosed some changes to the Ethereum protocol and staking pool. The new changes suggest that they could improve decentralization and reduce overhead consensus.
Even though this is a huge and welcomed development, Vitalik still managed to attract criticism from the crypto community especially key players in the ecosystem. One of such critics is Cardano founder, Charles Hoskinson.
In a recent tweet, Hoskinson took a quiet swipe at Vitalik by quoting his tweet and attaching a GIF of English actor Christian Bale, and the Muppet character, Kermit the Frog nodding at each other.

Reacting to this, a member of the crypto community pointed out the obsession of Charles Hoskinson and the Cardano community with Ethereum. According to him, Hoskinson talks more about Ethereum than he does Cardano as opposed to Vitalik who never talks about Charles or his project.
This would not be the first time Charles Hoskinson had taken a jab at Ethereum and its co-founder Vitalik Buterin. In fact, in June, Hoskinson challenged the Ethereum staking mechanism when Vitalik disclosed that he only stakes a small portion of his ETH.
Following the post, a user tagged Hoskinson to it inquiring how many percent of his Cardano is staked. Hoskison went on to reveal that all of their ADA tokens are staked, stating that a “properly designed Proof of Stake protocol” should be that way.
Ethereum copying Cardano?
Vitalik Buterin’s post explained in detail how the modification in the staking design could be advantageous for users. According to him, the changes will allow users who lack the means to stake solo to be more involved in the staking and consensus decision-making. In addition, the changes could help to further decentralize Ethereum by reducing the consensus layer’s operational burden.
Despite all this, the crypto community expressed their concerns, accusing Ethereum of copying Cardano’s already existing features. Some pointed out that Cardano had already started liquid staking years ago, praising Cardano’s decentralization metrics.
The community made a mockery of Ethereum by alleging that Ethereum emulates Cardano’s long-standing features by “dressing up as Cardano for Halloween.” To further cement his comments, Hoskinson stated that Ethereum “literally just admitted they need to copy Ouroboros.”
