XRP Death Cross Confirmed as Price Falls to $1.30, With $1.25 Support Under Threat

Summary

  • XRP confirms a death cross as its 50-day moving average falls below the 200-day average, reinforcing bearish market momentum overall.

  • XRP faces critical support at $1.25, with further declines potentially exposing $1.20 and $1.15 amid persistent selling pressure across markets.

  • Binance and OKX traders maintain bullish positions despite declining futures activity, while long liquidations dominate $7.25 million in losses.

XRP faces growing selling pressure after its daily chart confirmed a death cross, raising concerns about further losses toward $1.25. The bearish formation emerged as XRP traded near $1.30, below several important moving averages.

The 50-day moving average crossed beneath the 200-day average near $1.37, reinforcing the cryptocurrency’s weakening technical structure. Meanwhile, XRP has struggled to recover from recent losses, with sellers maintaining control around major resistance levels.

Market data shows XRP has declined approximately 15% over 30 days and 29% since the beginning of 2026. Its yearly performance remains weaker, with the cryptocurrency recording a 48% decline over the past 12 months.

The latest recovery attempt stalled near $1.40, where several moving averages have created considerable resistance. Additionally, the 100-day moving average around $1.33 presents another obstacle for buyers seeking to reverse the downtrend.

Trading activity has also declined considerably since August’s surge, reflecting weaker participation across the market. Meanwhile, XRP’s Relative Strength Index stands near 40, indicating persistent bearish momentum without reaching oversold territory.

XRP Death Cross Exposes $1.25 Support as Derivatives Traders Maintain Bullish Positions

XRP’s immediate support stands at $1.25, where buyers previously defended the price during two separate declines. A daily close beneath this level could expose $1.20, followed by another support zone around $1.15.

Further selling pressure could push XRP toward $1.00, a psychological support level that previously attracted buyers in August. Conversely, a recovery would require XRP to reclaim $1.33 before challenging the resistance zone between $1.37 and $1.40.

A sustained breakout above $1.40 could weaken the bearish outlook and open a recovery toward $1.50. Additional buying momentum could subsequently bring $1.65 into consideration, matching the cryptocurrency’s October high.

Meanwhile, derivatives market activity presents a contrasting picture despite XRP’s declining price. Long-to-short account ratios on Binance and OKX remain above 3, reflecting a strong preference for bullish positions.

Nevertheless, leveraged traders face increasing liquidation risks as XRP struggles beneath its major moving averages. During the previous 24 hours, total liquidations reached approximately $7.25 million, with long positions accounting for most losses. Futures market flows also recorded net outflows across the previous four to eight hours, reinforcing weaker trading conditions.

Overall, XRP remains under bearish pressure following the confirmed death cross, with $1.25 representing its immediate support level. A recovery above $1.40 would provide stronger evidence of improving momentum, while further losses could expose lower price levels.
