Ripple’s Chief Technology Officer, David Schwartz, has brought a powerful XRPL server online as part of an independent effort to support the XRP Ledger. The server is now fully synchronized and providing additional connectivity, though it will require further hardening before it can support high-priority nodes.
In the New York data center, Schwartz confirmed that its hardware is operational and has connected to the XRPL network. It does not yet have critical infrastructure functions, but it already plays a role in the network’s stability and coverage.
The server board has an AMD 9950X, 256 GB RAM, and a 10 Gbps unmetered connection with multiple terabytes of NVMe and SSD storage. Schwartz noted that the server is run by him and operates on Ubuntu. Moreover, he clarified that the server is totally unrelated to Ripple, underscoring his interest in the XRPL infrastructure.
“This would be my server run by me with no official connection to Ripple other than that I’m a Ripple employee,” he said.

Instead of being used as a testbed, the system is to be a high-uptime, production-grade node. Schwartz has clarified that such a system is designed to cater to actual traffic and sustained workloads. Some capacity would be reserved, and the possibility of making space accessible to other community members also exists.
Independent Setup Designed for Long-Term XRPL Support and Data Insights
The server is not intended for experimentation or short-term projects. Schwartz emphasized that no disruptive testing will take place unless technically necessary.
According to him, the server will not be involved in disruptive testing, but the information it collects daily will help create a better insight into the traffic’s workings and system performance across the network.
This update comes despite Schwartz having stopped actively running XRPL infrastructure some time ago. The renewed effort will help decentralization by running a reliable non-Ripple-run node.
He indicated that centralizing resources is never better, and therefore, the stable infrastructure has added value to the XRPL network.
David Schwartz’s XRPL server is already live and supporting network connectivity. After a period of real-world testing and system hardening, a full rollout will follow.
