XRPL Amendment Activity Surges as New Scorecard Pushes Devnet Coverage to 91%

The XRP Ledger Foundation’s amendment scorecard has driven increased testing activity across the network’s development environment. According to Foundation CTO Denis Angell, the dashboard measures whether developers have exercised each amendment’s complete specification on devnet.

Every XRPL feature enters the protocol through an amendment, which validators approve before mainnet activation. Once active, that feature becomes a permanent protocol component.

Consequently, the Foundation wants developers to test every function across its full lifecycle before validators approve permanent implementation. The scorecard gathers amendment specifications directly from an XRPL node, removing any dependence on manually maintained testing records.

It tracks transaction types, optional fields, flags, result codes, ledger entries, and each feature’s lifecycle. Additionally, it monitors validated devnet transactions for completed tests. Green cells confirm successful coverage and link users to the first validated transaction involving the relevant function. Meanwhile, red cells identify components requiring additional testing.

XRPL Devnet Coverage Reaches 91%

Angell reported that the scorecard accurately monitored 16 amendments running on devnet. Within 48 hours of its launch, developers exercised 278 amendment components that had never appeared in validated transactions.

Two amendments advanced from single-digit testing levels to complete coverage, showing how transparent measurements encouraged broader developer participation. Furthermore, the Sponsor amendment added 77 newly tested cells, helping overall devnet amendment coverage reach 91%.

Eight monitored amendments now show complete coverage, with every cell connected to at least one validated transaction. Besides the testing dashboard, the redesigned XRPL website provides clearer routes for institutions, developers, community members, and newcomers. Users can access organized resources covering payments, tokenization, trading, development tools, and other XRP Ledger applications.

Paris Hackathon Expands XRPL Development Efforts

Development activity will receive further support through a Builder Task Force hackathon in Paris from September 11 through September 13. De Vinci Blockchain will host approximately 40 to 50 builders, while offering $10,000 in rewards.

Participants will build prototypes using the XLS-66 Lending Protocol and XLS-65 Single Asset Vault. They will also evaluate documentation and development tools.

Together, these initiatives support deeper testing across the wider developer community. That scrutiny strengthens features before they become permanent parts of the XRPL protocol.
