Trump-Linked Firm Buys $3M in EOS, Token Skyrockets Amid Vaulta Rebrand

Trump-Linked Firm Buys $3M in EOS, Token Skyrockets Amid Vaulta Rebrand

EOS saw a strong price surge of over 9% on May 16 after World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a company tied to U.S. President Donald Trump, made a $3 million investment in the token. The sudden buy sparked market interest and helped EOS outperform the broader crypto market during the mild correction.

According to on-chain data, WLFI acquired around 3.636 million EOS tokens using 2.996 million USDT. The token was purchased at an average price of $0.824 per share. The value of EOS before the deal was around $0.77. Within a day, the token climbed to $0.86 but later dropped to $0.8009, reflecting a 1.98% decline over 24 hours.

As a result of the investment, EOS overcame the critical resistance area at $0.80 to $0.84. Amid minor fluctuations in the global crypto market worth nearly $3.27 trillion, EOS outperformed, making it stand out.

Rebrand to Vaulta and Token Swap Drive Renewed Interest

While the WLFI purchase was the primary trigger, EOS’s rally coincides with a significant rebranding effort. The project is transitioning into Vaulta, a Web3 banking platform aimed at expanding its role in decentralized finance.

As part of this process, EOS tokens are being swapped 1:1 into a new token called $A. The swap began on May 14 and is supported by major exchanges, including Crypto.com. This change helps EOS adjust within the DeFi market.

According to technical analysis, EOS has been in a falling broadening wedge pattern since the middle of 2022. Such a structure often shows that investors are buying for the long run. If momentum stays positive, analysts look at targets of $1.30 and $1.95 for gold prices.

Traders are still watching to see if EOS can hold its value above $0.84. If the quality is not maintained, there is a risk of a backward move, particularly if markets become more unfavorable. Should support continue, the recent advances could herald a longer rise driven by the company’s rebranding and interest from fresh investors.

After Trump-connected investment and the change to Vaulta, EOS became a key topic in the cryptocurrency market. Will this rally continue or disappear after the initial excitement?
