Coordinated Attempt to Smear Ripple and XRP – Here’s What’s Happening

  • XRP community shaken by claims of paid defamation campaign against Ripple.
  • $25,000 offer reveals coordinated attempt to smear Ripple and XRP.
  • Pumpius rejects offer to defame Ripple, vows to expose perpetrators.

The XRP community is on edge following recent revelations about an alleged coordinated attempt to defame Ripple and its cryptocurrency, XRP. Pumpius, a prominent figure in the XRP community, shared an eye-opening message detailing an offer he received to publicly trash Ripple for $25,000. According to Pumpius, the offer included a paid script directing him to call Ripple a scam, claim he had sold all of his XRP, and blame Ripple and influencers for causing financial destruction.

In a post on X, Pumpius wrote, “Let that sink in. So ask yourself this. Who is funding this campaign? Who benefits if XRP is defamed? And how many accounts you see daily attacking Ripple are not organic voices but paid proxies following the same script?” He went on to emphasize that this was a clear example of how narratives are engineered with money, signaling that those behind the campaign might be desperate to stop something even bigger from happening.

The Plot Deepens as More Offers Emerge

Following his initial post, Pumpius continued to shed light on the situation in subsequent messages. On February 9, he stated, “Anybody who refuses to believe I turned down money to trash XRP is telling on themselves. They cannot imagine rejecting it because they would take it.”

Pumpius further explained that while some individuals rejected the offer, others accepted it. This divide, he noted, underscores the crucial difference between those who can be bought and those who stand firm in their principles.

Pumpius also revealed that he wasn’t the only one approached with such offers. “It was not just me. Others were offered too. Some said no, some did not. That is the difference. Not everyone is for sale,” he added. His continued transparency has sparked further suspicion within the XRP community about who could be behind these attempts to discredit Ripple.

Investigation and Next Steps

In a final post, Pumpius shared his ongoing efforts to uncover the perpetrators, making it clear that he would not point fingers without solid evidence, but was in contact with multiple individuals who had received similar offers.

These individuals, according to Pumpius, have all rejected the paid campaign and are now working together to compare details and investigate the situation. The accounts that contacted him and others were identified as burner accounts, with no real identities attached.

Pumpius assured his followers that once the facts are gathered, the people behind the smear campaign will be exposed. He also confirmed that the incident would be reported to the relevant authorities for further investigation.
