In Brief:
- XRP spot trading volume reached six-month highs, with Binance, Upbit, and Bithumb accounting for most disclosed exchange activity during August.
- Eight exchanges recorded elevated spot trading activity, reaching $20.34 billion combined.
- Higher spot volume improves XRP liquidity, but price direction depends on sustained buyer demand, order flow, and exchange withdrawal trends.
XRP recorded its highest spot trading volume in six months, led by growing activity across Binance and South Korean exchanges. According to CryptoQuant analyst Arab Chain, August delivered XRP’s strongest spot trading volume since February across several major platforms.

What It Means for XRP’s Price
Higher spot volume improves liquidity by bringing more buyers, sellers, and orders into active XRP markets. Moreover, deeper liquidity allows traders to complete larger transactions with reduced slippage during significant price movements.
Sustained buying demand could transform the activity into price support by absorbing XRP offered by sellers. However, higher volume does not independently confirm bullish momentum because every completed transaction involves buyers and sellers.
Strong turnover may represent accumulation, distribution, profit-taking, or aggressive selling rather than a guaranteed price increase. Therefore, traders need supporting indicators before connecting the six-month volume high with a sustainable XRP recovery.
Rising prices, buyer-dominated order flow, and persistent exchange withdrawals would suggest demand controls the additional liquidity. Conversely, falling prices alongside increasing exchange deposits could indicate holders are selling XRP into stronger liquidity. August’s increase confirms market participation, but sustained buyer strength will determine whether XRP gains lasting upward momentum.
