Bitcoin Whales Buy 16,010 BTC During Price Drop as Analyst Signals Potential Rebound

What to Know

  • Bitcoin whales accumulated 16,010 BTC during a five day decline, increasing their holdings as prices dropped toward the $80,000 level.
  • Analyst Ali Martinez identified $84,569 as crucial resistance, where approximately 800,000 BTC previously changed hands, creating a significant supply zone.
  • Whale holdings increased by 0.305%, while Bitcoin’s ability to break above $84,569 remains important for confirming a potential price rebound.

Bitcoin whales accumulated 16,010 BTC during a five-day market decline, increasing their holdings despite significant selling pressure across the cryptocurrency market. According to crypto analyst Ali Martinez, the accumulation occurred as Bitcoin dropped from $87,000 toward $80,000, suggesting sustained interest among large investors.

In an October 12 post on X, analyst Ali Martinez highlighted Santiment data showing whale holdings rose 0.305%, from 5,247,316 to 5,263,326 BTC. This accumulation indicates that large Bitcoin holders expanded their positions while the cryptocurrency experienced downward price movement. Martinez interpreted the purchases as a potential signal of renewed upward momentum, although Bitcoin still faces considerable resistance.

The figures also show that whales acquired additional Bitcoin during a period when declining prices dominated market activity. Their purchases provide insight into how major holders responded to the downturn.

Bitcoin Faces $84,569 Resistance as Whale Accumulation Strengthens

Beyond the accumulation figures, Martinez identified an important price level that could influence Bitcoin’s next market movement. According to Glassnode data shared by the analyst, approximately 800,000 BTC previously changed hands around $84,569.

This concentration of trading activity makes the price level an important area for monitoring Bitcoin’s potential recovery. Investors who purchased Bitcoin near this level could influence trading activity as the cryptocurrency approaches their entry prices.

Martinez identified a move above $84,569 as an important development that would strengthen the possibility of further gains. The level represents a significant supply concentration that Bitcoin must overcome to support the analyst’s bullish outlook.

Meanwhile, the accumulation data provides additional context for Bitcoin’s performance during the decline from $87,000 toward $80,000. Whale balances increased throughout the five-day period, even as the broader market experienced sustained downward pressure.

Whale Holdings Rise Despite Bitcoin’s Declining Market Price

Significantly, the 16,010 BTC increase reflects a measurable expansion in holdings among the large investors tracked by Santiment. The figures establish a contrast between Bitcoin’s declining market price and the accumulation activity recorded among major holders.

Martinez’s analysis connects these purchases with the possibility of another upward price movement, subject to the identified resistance level. Nevertheless, the reported holdings alone do not establish whether Bitcoin will successfully overcome the supply concentration.

Bitcoin’s ability to reclaim $84,569 remains central to the rebound scenario outlined in the analyst’s October 12 assessment. The combination of whale accumulation and concentrated supply provides two measurable indicators for evaluating the cryptocurrency’s next price movement.
