In Brief:
- Cascade closed its five-year trading platform and directed customers to Equilibria’s portal to recover balances remaining securely in their accounts.
- The venture raised $15 million in 2025 but faced operational delays, weak communication, and growing concerns among its wider community.
- A July exploit drained about $1.3 million in USDC, prompting service suspensions, recovery efforts, compensation, and stricter withdrawal precautionary measures.
Cascade has closed its trading platform, ending five years of operations across cryptocurrency, commodities, and tokenized asset markets. According to its announcement on X, customers should claim balances through Equilibria’s designated portal. The decision ends Cascade’s brokerage services and leaves users responsible for recovering funds remaining on the platform.
Previously known as Perennial, Cascade built its business around uninterrupted access to digital and tokenized markets. Moreover, the company attracted support from cryptocurrency investors while developing its multi-asset trading infrastructure. Cascade raised $15 million in 2025 from Polychain Capital, Variant, and Coinbase Ventures.
However, financial backing could not prevent operational delays, limited communication, and mounting concerns among community members. Cascade struggled to meet milestones, creating uncertainty around its development plans and commercial direction.

Consequently, the attackers drained approximately $1.3 million in USDC from the Cascade Liquidity Strategy vault. Cascade suspended trading and withdrawals while external security specialists investigated the incident and traced the missing assets.
The company later recovered most stolen funds with assistance from security responders. Additionally, affected customers received compensation using account balances recorded through a snapshot taken on July 15.
Despite those recovery efforts, the attack raised further concerns about Cascade’s safeguards and ability to protect customer deposits. Existing development delays and limited community communication also placed greater pressure on the business.
Users seeking remaining balances should access only the claim portal identified through Cascade’s verified channels. Fraudulent websites often imitate official recovery pages when cryptocurrency businesses close their platforms.
Customers should never disclose private keys, wallet recovery phrases, or account passwords during the claims process. They should also confirm every website address before connecting a wallet or approving any transaction.
Cascade’s closure ends a venture-backed project that sought to connect digital assets with broader tokenized markets. For affected customers, recovering outstanding balances remains the immediate priority as the platform completes its shutdown.
