The event is titled “Know Your Custodian: Key Considerations for Crypto Custody” and is focused on digital asset storage rules. According to the official agenda, this marks Atkins’ debut commentary on crypto issues since taking office.

Key Industry Figures to Debate Custody Rules and Regulation

The first central panel will bring together leaders from top crypto custody providers and legal firms. Jason Allegrante of Fireblocks and Rachel Anderika of Anchorage Digital Bank will speak on institutional custody and compliance expectations.

Moderated by Zachary Zweihorn from Davis Polk, the session will include Kraken, BitGo, Copper Technologies, and Etana Custody participants. Custodial companies will present their experiences with changing practices because of regulatory demands.

The session concentrates on broker-dealer operations, alternative structures, and responses to SEC monitoring activities. Attendees hope to receive clear definitions of proper digital asset custody systems that comply with regulations.

A second panel devoted to investment advisers and their legal requirements will start its session after a break. Attorneys Justin Browder Sus, a Gault-Brown, and Mike Didiuk, together with their colleagues, will analyze how modern crypto technologies challenge existing legal standards.

Legal scholars Adam Levitin and Charles Mooney will contribute insights on insolvency risk, tokenization, and asset protection laws, adding depth to the discussion. These professionals seek to develop regulatory foundations that will support forthcoming regulatory updates.

Conclusion

Chairman Paul Atkins’ upcoming remarks are a significant turning point in U.S. crypto policy. His participation underscores the SEC’s intent to take a more active role in shaping digital asset custody rules.
