Last updated on May 18th, 2024 at 12:04 pm

Major Shibarium updates – More good news for the Shiba Inu ecosystem as an admin dropped hints of incoming announcements in the Telegram group. The admin teased that it would be coming this month.

An admin under the name “Someone Smart (Maybe)” of the Shibarium official Telegram group answered a question over the weekend from one of the community members who sorted to know if there is “any good news coming.”

According to the conversation, “Dinesh,” the community member inquired for updates from the layer 2 blockchain team. The admin Someone Smart (Maybe)” responded to this query by saying “Yes very soon.”

The reply suggests that the Shibarium team will be announcing major updates to the community soon. What’s more, the admin also made it clear that the announcements will be coming sooner than later this month.

However, the admin did not drop any clear information about the announcements, rather they pointed out that there will be a couple of exciting announcements coming this month. He also urged the community to patiently wait for the announcements.

What is Shibarium?

Shibarium is a new blockchain network that is being developed as a layer-2 (L2) solution on the Ethereum platform. Its main purpose is to create a complete ecosystem for the popular meme coin, Shiba Inu. By leveraging the power of blockchain technology, Shibarium aims to provide a secure and efficient platform for users to trade, store, and interact with Shiba Inu and other cryptocurrencies.

Ryoshi, the Shiba Inu’s unknown creator, suggested the Shibarium project in a now-deleted blog post in May 2021. On the Ethereum blockchain, the project intends to construct a blockchain layer-2 solution. Shiba Inu will be transformed from a meme coin to a whole ecosystem that will feature a decentralized exchange (DEX), a metaverse, and blockchain games like Shiba Eternity.

Team Shiba Inu plans for Shibarium

The team behind the layer-2 solution has been communicating with the members of the ecosystem about the progress of Shibarium in cryptic messages. In April, a member of the Shibarium Telegram group asked the Shiba Inu lead developer Shytoshi Kusama to update the community occasionally with good news.

In his response, Shytoshi made it known that he and his team have been working silently to “achieve the impossible.” As always, further information was not given on what he meant, though members guessed that his response could be referring to Shibarium’s mainnet version.

The beta version of Shibarium, Puppynet is currently available and the project has continued to receive global adoption. The Shibarium mainnet version is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.
