Binance to Delist Eight USDC Margin Pairs as August 21 Deadline Nears

Binance to Delist Eight USDC Margin Pairs as August 21 Deadline Nears

Summary

  • Binance will delist eight USDC Cross Margin pairs on August 21, while three pairs will also lose Isolated Margin support.
  • Binance will suspend borrowing for three Isolated Margin pairs before closing positions, settling balances, and canceling affected pending trading orders.
  • BNB Smart Chain wallet maintenance will temporarily suspend BEP20 deposits and withdrawals, while token trading on Binance remains fully operational.

Binance will delist eight USDC margin trading pairs from its Cross Margin platform on August 21 at 06:00 UTC. According to Binance, three of those pairs will also leave Isolated Margin as the exchange adjusts its supported margin markets.

The affected Cross Margin pairs are AUCTION/USDC, BEAMX/USDC, CETUS/USDC, HUMA/USDC, LAYER/USDC, NXPC/USDC, UMA/USDC, and VELODROME/USDC. Meanwhile, HUMA/USDC, LAYER/USDC, and NXPC/USDC will also lose Isolated Margin support.

Binance has already stopped users from transferring assets involving those three pairs into their Isolated Margin accounts. The restriction covers both manual transfers and the exchange’s Auto-Transfer Mode. However, traders with existing positions still have time to manage their exposure before Binance completes the removal process.

Binance Sets August 18 Borrowing Cutoff Before Full Delisting

Binance Margin will suspend isolated margin borrowing for HUMA/USDC, LAYER/USDC, and NXPC/USDC on August 18 at 06:00 UTC. The borrowing suspension represents the next major step before the scheduled removal of those markets.

On August 21, Binance will close users’ positions across affected margin pairs, conduct automatic settlements, and cancel all related pending orders. Binance expects the delisting process to take approximately three hours, during which users will not have the ability to update positions. Hence, Binance has advised users to close affected positions or transfer their assets from Margin Accounts into Spot Accounts before delisting.

Completing those actions beforehand could help traders avoid potential losses resulting from automatic settlement during the delisting process. Significantly, the announcement specifically concerns margin support for the listed pairs rather than broader token trading.

BNB Smart Chain Wallet Maintenance Scheduled for August 20

Besides the margin pair removals, Binance will conduct wallet maintenance for BNB Smart Chain on August 20 at 06:00 UTC. Deposits and withdrawals through the BEP20 network will face a temporary suspension during the maintenance period.

Binance will halt BEP20 deposits and withdrawals at 05:55 UTC, five minutes before the scheduled maintenance begins. The exchange estimates that the wallet work will take approximately one hour.

However, trading involving tokens supported on the BNB Smart Chain will remain available during the maintenance. Binance will restore deposits and withdrawals once the network’s wallet services meet its operational requirements.

Conclusion

Binance users holding positions across the eight affected USDC margin pairs face several important deadlines before the August 21 delisting. Borrowing restrictions arrive earlier for three Isolated Margin pairs, while automatic settlement will apply during the final removal process.

Separately, BNB Smart Chain users will experience a temporary wallet service interruption on August 20. Token trading will remain unaffected during that maintenance period.
