A Bitcoin whale has transferred 4,582 BTC worth approximately $377.6 million across five wallet addresses, ending six years of inactivity. According to blockchain analytics platform Lookonchain, the wallet identified as “18Vm…VpQ9x” executed the transactions on October 12.

The address originally received its Bitcoin holdings in March 2020, when the entire balance carried an estimated value of $40.8 million. Since then, Bitcoin’s price appreciation has increased the holdings’ estimated value by approximately $336.8 million over the six year period.

Blockchain records show that the transferred Bitcoin remains in the five receiving addresses, with no reported deposits to cryptocurrency exchanges. The wallet’s extended inactivity makes the transaction notable, particularly as substantial Bitcoin movements attract attention during periods of market volatility. Despite the significant transfer, available transaction records provide no confirmation that the wallet owner intends to sell the holdings.

Another Dormant Bitcoin Whale Moves $375 Million as Market Volatility Increases

The latest transaction follows another substantial Bitcoin transfer involving a wallet that remained inactive for more than four years. Blockchain tracking data shows that the address “bc1q…nhj0” moved approximately 4,500 BTC worth $375.7 million during the previous week.

Combined, the two transactions involved approximately 9,082 BTC, representing more than $753 million based on their reported valuations. Both movements involved long inactive wallets, although neither transaction confirms that the owners transferred their holdings for immediate liquidation.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin experienced selling pressure during Monday’s trading session, with its price briefly declining toward approximately $81,220. The cryptocurrency subsequently recovered some losses, trading around $83,245 while recording a 0.4% decline over the preceding 24 hours.

Arctic Digital research head Justin d’Anethan indicated that the recent decline does not necessarily undermine expectations of a potential market recovery. Instead, the movement could represent a market adjustment as Bitcoin establishes another support region following its recent price weakness. Separately, QCP Capital projected Bitcoin could trade between $80,000 and $90,000 during the fourth quarter under its base case scenario.

Bitcoin Holdings Remain Across Five Receiving Addresses

The whale’s Bitcoin remains distributed across five recipient wallets, with blockchain records showing no further movement from those addresses. Although the transfers coincide with market volatility, available evidence does not establish a connection between the transactions and Bitcoin’s decline. The two large transfers highlight renewed activity among previously dormant Bitcoin holders, whose substantial balances have remained untouched for several years.
